“The Future of Fish in Asia: Issues for Responsible Investors”, a report supported by the David & Lucile Packard Foundation, was launched on September 9, 2011 in Hong Kong. As marine products are a key raw material for industries as diverse as agriculture, retail, pharmaceuticals, and pet food, the report intends to galvanise investors into engaging with portfolio companies on seafood sourcing. It provides the ecological context to this crucial sustainability issue, an assessment of policy and practices in each of the relevant sectors and sector-level engagement toolkits. The report gives prime importance to Asia, which is the most significant geography from a consumption and production perspective, and has global relevance for companies and investors.
